The cuddly Chemo Duck comes dressed in hospital scrubs and a bandanna and either a Hickman or port-a-cath style chemotherapy port. Developed with the help of child life specialists and medical professionals, the Chemo Duck Program helps introduce children and families to their new life and encourages healing through the power of play therapy. ![](https://blog.shift4shop.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/Adopt-a-Chemo-Duck-Hickman-Style-300x274.png?width=300&height=274&name=Adopt-a-Chemo-Duck-Hickman-Style-300x274.png "Adopt a Chemo Duck - Hickman Style") The Chemo Duck store offers individuals and businesses the opportunity to provide a child (or many children) with a Chemo Duck of their own or donate ducks to hospitals participating in the program. Once a duck is purchased, the child can visit the Chemo Duck website, register their new friend and print out an official adoption certificate as well as other fun activities. "When someone does something this wonderful for children, we need to do our part to help spread the word", said Joe Palko from 3dcart, Chemo Duck's e-commerce webhosting provide provider. 3dcart is pleased to have Gabe's Chemo Duck Program as one of the tens of thousands of online stores powered by our eCommerce shopping cart software. > “We hear from parents every day about how Chemo Duck is helping their children get through this difficult time and that response is what drove us to turn to the Internet to make our ducks available anywhere they're needed,” said Russ Roberts of Get it Guru, the webmaster of Gabe's Chemo Duck Program. “By choosing 3dcart as our eCommerce provider we made it easy for parents, caregivers and hospitals to order Chemo Ducks and we have a website that's easy to maintain and process orders from.” By making Chemo Ducks available for purchase online the organization's goal of making this therapeutic tool more widely available was easily accomplished. Now, a greater number of hospital staff and parents can prepare children for chemotherapy treatment and eliminate the fear of the unknown. The Chemo Duck Store ([https://www.chemoduckstore.org](https://www.chemoduckstore.org)) features two styles of Chemo Ducks as well as t-shirts, DVDs, books, backpacks and the Huggable Hope Duck which is the same model as the Chemo Duck but doesn't include any of the medical teaching tools.
