The change constitutes the largest change to 3dcart’s template system since the platform was originally launched in 1997.
The reengineered storefront engine, which has literally been years in the making, includes both updates to the core functionality of the ecommerce platform and a complete set of new front-end themes based on the HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery technologies.
“The recent updates to 3dcart’s template system allows design agencies like us to create fully responsive and table-less themes using the latest front-end technologies,” said Brian Pekarek, Managing Director for PSDCenter. “We’re glad to be able to collaborate with 3dcart and start offering brand new templates on the 3dcart Theme Store.”
With the new technology, 3dcart is also making available over 100 Responsive and Mobile-Friendly Themes with the latest standards for SEO and usability, created by independent designers and by 3dcart itself. The themes will be made available to all online stores via the 3dcart control panel or their Theme Marketplace.
“We’re at the point where more searches are taking place on mobile devices than on desktops, and the update to our platform will help online retailers to meet Google and Bing mobile-friendly standards,” said Jimmy Rodriquez, Chief Operations Officer at 3dcart. “This is part of even bigger changes to come with our version 7 release later this year, which will set a new milestone in the history of our company.”
